Vanderbilt Tires is a brand within the TBC International family of tires, which includes Eldorado, Multi-Mile, and Delta tires, all of which are available online through Tire Agent. Vanderbilt was founded in 1939 as a replacement tire available through TBC Wholesale in the United States. The tire brand has a complicated 80-year history, being acquired by TBC International, which was acquired by Sumitomo in 2005, which has distributed Vanderbilts. Kelly Springfield, a Goodyear brand, has also been involved in the manufacturing of the Vanderbilt tire brand.

Vanderbilt has made tires in a variety of categories: all-season, all-terrain, all-terrain/all-season, highway, mud terrain, on- and off road, performance all season, touring all season, touring summer, and winter. 

One of the ways to assess the quality of a tire is to look at the UTQG treadwear rating, which is one of many indicators to a tire’s reliability. The US Department of Transportation established guidelines for tire makers to rate their own tires, based on a comparison to government standards. The result is a treadwear rating ranging from 0 to 900. The higher the number, the better the treadwear. However, keep in mind that some tires deliberately have softer treads than others; for example, summer tires tend to be softer for better performance in wet and dry conditions in the summer.
