It’s here: Our list of some of the best all-terrain tires, based on budget, driving style, and features that matter most to Tire Agent’s customers. We carry tires from over 80 brands, so this list of 12 all-terrain tires is just scratching the surface.
BFGoodrich’s BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 offers excellent off-road grip and is quieter than most on highway driving. BFG isn’t known for being cheap; it's known for exceptional value. And the company’s all-terrain tire with CoreGuard technology proves just that. It’s recognized as one of the toughest all-terrain tires ever. Snow, ice, sleet, and hail are no match for this bullet-proof, severe-weather tire. Plus, it comes backed by a 50,000-mile limited warranty. BFGoodrich is a leader in off-road tires. Sure, their products cost a little more, but you get what you pay for. When it comes to off-road performance, the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tire is without parallel. Race-proven CoreGuard technology, along with locking 3-D sipes and a serrated shoulder design, make these some of the toughest treads on the planet.
We could have included the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tire in the next category, among the quietest all-terrain tires. But we put it here, because it tops many “best all terrain tires” lists. Why? Scorpion All Terrain Plus offers a comfortable ride and excellent traction in dirt, sand, mud and rocky terrain. It’s good in snow and good for light trucks, SUVs and many 4x4 vehicles.
No list of all-terrain tires would be complete without mentioning Goodyear Wranglers. The Wrangler DuraTrac model offers a surprisingly quiet ride, thanks to center tread blocks. The tire is designed for work vehicles that haul large loads. The tire also has TractiveGroove technology, which is good for deep mud and snow, as well as rim protection, which is great for commercial vehicles (offers an added layer of curb protection).
For an all-terrain, all-season tire, the Firestone Destination A/T2 is a solid choice. It features built-in noise-canceling technology and offers a comfortable ride, lower tread life and great handling in wet, dry and loose terrain. This budget priced tire from one of the oldest manufacturers in the business offers dependability for everyday driving as well as tough terrains. The Destination A/T2 may not be the quietest ride, but it’s not the loudest in the category.
As prices vary and special offers may apply, there may be lower priced all-terrain tires in the Tire Agent catalog.
Atturo Trail Blade A/T If you’re on a budget – but still want to play hard – the Atturo Trail Blade A/T is for you. Because Atturo isn’t a household name, you get a great set of treads for a killer price. A sure-footed grip, and good road manners, make this all-terrain replacement tire the perfect choice for work or play. Plus, a stellar 50,000-mile warranty is included for peace of mind.
Don’t let the price tag fool you on this all terrain tire. With stone ejectors that remove stones and debris, Radar’s Renegade AT-5 can handle intense terrain. The extra durable 3-ply construction not only improves traction but helps resist abrasions from road obstacles. The center tread block design will enhance handling and stability on pavement, so this tire will keep you happy on and off the road!
Although fuel-efficient all terrain tires may seem like contradictory terms, they do exist. Continental’s TerrainContact A/T has it all: fuel efficiency, excellent manufacturer warranty, all-terrain traction and minimal road noise. Reviewers report exceptional handling in wet, dry, dirt and gravel. It’s designed for SUVs, crossovers, and light trucks. Consumer Reports gives the TerrainContact A/T excellent marks for road noise reduction in this category.
Nitto Terra Grappler G2 is quieter than most all-terrain tires for highway driving. Its predecessor, the Terra Grappler, was not the best for snow; however, the G2 is 3-peak mountain snowflake rated. With on- and off-road noise reduction, this tire balances both wet and dry performance. Various terrain is no match for this tire, with its staggered shoulder lugs to improve traction in deep sand and dirt. Combined with deep sipes for effectively channeling away water and extending the tread life, this all season, all terrain tire is a multi weather miracle.
Falken's WildPeak ends the winter tire vs all terrain debate. Not only is this tire great off-road, but it also provides exceptional performance in the snow, thanks to an exclusive silica tread compound and special siping technology. The Falken WildPeak A/T3W may be a little noisy on the highway, but you’ll get excellent traction on and off pavement, especially for winter performance. Engineered for exploring and adventure, this tire is a combination of off-road capabilities without the sacrifice of smooth pavement driving. It excels beyond the rugged terrain, wearing the 3-peak mountain snowflake symbol rated for severe snow conditions.
Toyo proprietary T-mode technology delivers a versatile off- and on-road all-terrain tire. The Open Country A/T III offers confident wet braking and handling, and its rugged construction is chip and puncture resistant. This tire really shines in the snow, thanks to increased lateral grooves and 3D multi-wave sipes.
Expect some road noise (but not the noisiest) with General’s Grabber A/TX, a 3-peak mountain snowflake rated studdable tire. Built for winter climates and maximum off-road capabilities, this tire comes with General’s Duragen technology. This aggressive tire has alternating shoulder scoops for increased grip in rocky terrain, and its Stabilitread technology improves the tread life (and your comfort on- and off-road).
The Sumitomo Encounter AT is another all-terrain tire that offers lower road noise, a comfortable ride and gets excellent marks for off-roading, wet and dry conditions, winter and snow. You’ll find the Sumitomo Encounter AT on the lower end of the price range. This tire features a rugged, all-terrain compound molded into a purposeful pattern for traction in any weather. It’s also backed by a 60,000-mile limited warranty, making this a great value for the price. And of course, you’ll find a severe-weather rating symbol on the sidewall. You don’t need to take out a second mortgage to get superior winter traction – and the Sumitomo Encounter AT proves it.
The 12 tires in this post are by no means our complete list of the best all-terrain tires in the Tire Agent online store. The best way to find the best tires for your ride is to start a search. From any page, select Shop Tires and Wheels, then enter your vehicle information. You’ll need to confirm your wheel size. Use the filters to sort by brand, size, warranty and other factors that matter to you.
Tire Agent believes that no one should sacrifice quality when it comes to tires, including all-terrain and off-road adventures. That’s why we formed PayPair, a one-stop site for purchasing tires through payment plans. You’ll find at least 12 ways to pay for tires; choose the one that suits you best (some restrictions apply, and terms are subject to qualifications).
